INDIAN RIVER COUNTY — A crash involving three vehicles injured one man and closed several lanes of a major county intersection just before rush hour Tuesday.
The crash was just before 4:30 p.m. on 66th Avenue at the intersection of State Road 60 west of Indian River Mall.
Indian River County Sheriff’s Office deputies directed traffic through the intersection while Indian River County Fire Rescue crews removed debris and checked on six people from the three vehicles.
Battalion Chief Kyle Kofke said one man was taken to Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital with minor injuries for evaluation.
The crash left a black Jaguar sedan with major front end damage and stopped on a street sign in the median of 66th Avenue. A black Ford Escape with front right tire damage was stopped facing oncoming traffic in the eastbound turn lane of 66th Avenue.
A lesser damaged white Ford pickup truck hauling lawn equipment pulled off 66th Avenue south of the intersection at State Road 60.
Kofke said five people from the vehicles refused medical treatment.
