A Tennessee Street bank patron was shot by a suspect who approached him on a bicycle and attempted to rob him while using the ATM.
Tallahassee Police Department spokeswoman Alicia Turner said in an email that the incident happened at 10 p.m. Sunday, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.
According to preliminary investigative reports obtained by the Democrat, the victim was approached while using the Wells Fargo ATM near the corner of Ocala Road. When he refused to give the suspect money, he was shot in the torso and hospitalized with serious injuries.
The incident Sunday marks the 20th shooting in Tallahassee and Leon County this year, according to a Tallahassee Democrat analysis. Four people have been killed in gunfire while at least 13 have been injured.
The incident was one of two shootings in a 6-hour span overnight.
