South Carolina Highway Patrol troopers are looking for a truck that troopers say hit a bicycle.They said it happened about 5:15 p.m. on March 23 on Dillon Street in Cherokee County. The bicyclist sustained serious injuries, troopers said. Troopers said they are looking for a 1994 – 2002 Dodge pickup. The color is not known. It may be a regular cab or extended cab, troopers said. Driver who hit bicycle-pulled carrier and critically injuring toddler gets state prison sentence

LEWISBURG – “Tragic” is the Union County district attorney’s description of the case in which a toddler was critically injured when the carrier in which she was riding behind her mother’s bicycle was struck by a hit-run driver.

“He knew he hit her and he knew she was injured but then drove away,” District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said Monday following the sentencing of Tyler Bean-Dowell, 30, of Millmont.

County Judge Michael T. Hudock sentenced Bean-Dowell to 1 to 9 years in state prison with the recommendation that he not be released after he serves his minimum.
