Tesla Gains on Canaccord Boost Citing Apple-Like Energy Ecosystem

Tesla  (TSLA) – Get Report shares jumped higher in premarket trading Monday after analysts at Canaccord Genuity lifted their rating on the clean-energy carmaker as it moves toward an “Apple-esque ecosystem” of energy products.

Canaccord analyst Jed Dorsheimer said Tesla is poised to “radically” change the battery power market with its industry-leading technology and production capacity, adding that its successful transition to mass-market electric vehicle production will allow it to “attack and conquer another trillion-dollar market in energy generation and storage.”

Ohio’s $8.3 billion transportation budget to boost public transit

COLUMBUS – Ohio lawmakers sent an $8.3 billion two-year budget to pay for roads, bridges and public transportation to Gov. Mike DeWine after eliminating his proposed penalties for driving with a cellphone.

Ohio Senate passed unanimously House Bill 74 Wednesday evening and the Ohio House approved changes with a 86-8 vote Thursday. The transportation budget heads to DeWine for his signature.

Lawmakers boosted money for public transit to $140 million over two years – $221 million if you include federal money. That’s in line with what legislators approved two years ago and an increase from DeWine’s opening offer.
