Tallahassee police investigate after man on bicycle shoots person using ATM

A Tennessee Street bank patron was shot by a suspect who approached him on a bicycle and attempted to rob him while using the ATM.

Tallahassee Police Department spokeswoman Alicia Turner said in an email that the incident happened at 10 p.m. Sunday, and investigators are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

According to preliminary investigative reports obtained by the Democrat, the victim was approached while using the Wells Fargo ATM near the corner of Ocala Road. When he refused to give the suspect money, he was shot in the torso and hospitalized with serious injuries.

Driver who hit bicycle-pulled carrier and critically injuring toddler gets state prison sentence

LEWISBURG – “Tragic” is the Union County district attorney’s description of the case in which a toddler was critically injured when the carrier in which she was riding behind her mother’s bicycle was struck by a hit-run driver.

“He knew he hit her and he knew she was injured but then drove away,” District Attorney D. Peter Johnson said Monday following the sentencing of Tyler Bean-Dowell, 30, of Millmont.

County Judge Michael T. Hudock sentenced Bean-Dowell to 1 to 9 years in state prison with the recommendation that he not be released after he serves his minimum.
